Hi, welcome to the first Polish website on quilting!
I got interested in traditional quilts when I first spotted them in American movies. I started my first quilt in 2001, got hooked and never looked for a cure to my new obsession. I fell for the abundance of patterns made from simple geometrical shapes and infinite color combinations.
I’m a quiltaholic now! When I don’t have time to sew, I play with blocks and colors to design new patterns. I’m like a kid who can’t let go of a favourite toy!

I’ve designed ABCpatchworku.pl as an Internet course in quilting based on traditional American pieced block patterns. More patterns, of blocks and quilts alike, will be added regularly until ABCpatchworku.pl becomes the reference site for all those interested in quilting. Patchwork quilting is rather little known in Poland, but I hope to change that. My objective is to introduce women in my country to the wonderful world of patchwork designing.
The website is structured as a handbook that teaches patchwork quilting from A to Z.
It’s not about ready-to-follow tutorials on how to make place mats or a pillow case, etc.
It is about learning to ‘understand’ quilting so they can design and make their own unique, beautiful quilts.
The top line menu will guide the users through the whole process – from basic terms,
to step by step lessons on how to make your own personal quilt, to block patterns, and finally to the techniques that speed up cutting and sewing. To make the learning process logical and easier, the blocks are divided into four categories: beginner, simple, intermediate and advanced. I’ve translated the block names for the Polish audience but also kept the original American names.
I hope you will return to see new, updated patterns and designs. Although the site is written in Polish, the images are a universal language which I hope you will enjoy.
